I have 8 days left in the U.S. before my year-long absence. Who would have thought time could trace so fast?! I just returned home after about 2 weeks' worth of vacation and am getting the rest of my ducks in a row before I fly out, which includes a couple doctor's appointments, about 2 trips to Bloomington, one downtown to prove I'll be gone for a year and can't serve for jury duty, and the last-minute purchasing of some travel-size toiletries. It's been a whirlwind preparing for this trip but it's been a blast as well.
I'm trying to squeeze in more time with friends and family before I leave, and it's been a pleasure so far. I've gotten to see my niece who will probably be walking by the time I get back, my family with whom I spent the last week in Michigan, and Eric, who I'll be awaiting in Spain next summer. I've planned to see a handful of friends before I leave, and I hope there aren't too many tears involved.
It's going to be an absolute adventure, and I can't wait to see what awaits me across the big blue next Wednesday.
